Device Connectivity Updates

TELCOR QML® has connectivity for more than 150 device types. Whether you are looking to add new testing on devices already in use, add a new device to your POC program, or expand testing to include ambulatory locations, we can help. We are dedicated to connecting all POC testing, and will communicate new connectivity and enhancements as they become available. Below are device connectivity enhancements released this quarter.

New – General Release

The following device type connectivity is live and available to all TELCOR customers. Device tips are published on our portal for your review. Purchase of the device type and the prerequisite QML version outlined below are required to start a project. Contact your TELCOR Account Manager for more details.

HemoCue - New Direct Connectivity

HemoCue provides rapid patient hemoglobin and glucose testing. TELCOR now offers direct connectivity to Hb 201 DM hemoglobin and Glucose 201 DM glucose devices. This connectivity eliminates the need for the HemoCue 201 DM device management software. Device events/errors will also be visible in QML.

This connectivity includes:

  • results
  • set date/time
  • operator lists
  • patient lists
  • device configurations

Implementation of HemoCue requires a minimum QML version of 2.3.28, installation of a new connectivity module, and the QML Configuration Module (QCM) into the Links menu. The QML Links menu must also be updated for all client access (i.e., Citrix, RDWeb, physical workstations).

New – Beta Release

TELCOR adheres to a beta release process allowing our customers the best outcomes when implementing new device types. Our dedicated Beta Implementation Manager works closely with the first customers implementing each device type to ensure all features and functionality perform as expected before we release to our entire customer population.

Werfen ROTEM® sigma via GEMweb Plus – New Device

ROTEM sigma is a fully automated viscoelastic test system that can be utilized at point of care or in the clinical laboratory. ROTEM sigma is an easy-to-use, cartridge-based system that delivers rapid results providing guidance in bleeding management.

TELCOR is wrapping up the beta release phase for ROTEM sigma via GEMweb Plus and will release it to our general population soon. This connectivity includes results and patient query. Implementation of ROTEM sigma requires a minimum QML version of 2.3.28 and installation of updated GEM HL7 connectivity. Because this upgrade includes new tests, it is possible that non-sigma device types connected through GEMweb Plus could be impacted. GEMweb Plus version 6.1 is also required for this connectivity.

Coming Soon

Stay tuned for the beta release of TELCOR connectivity for these devices this year.

bioMérieux BIOFIRE® SPOTFIRE® – New Device - NOW AVAILABLE!

TELCOR has completed development of connectivity for the bioMérieux BIOFIRE SPOTFIRE devices for their BIOFIRE Respiratory (R) Panel and is making the final changes necessary following their FDA clearance. This connectivity includes results, set date/time, operator lists, and device configurations. The SpotFire devices communicate with QML either wirelessly or via an Ethernet-connected docking station. Implementation of SPOTFIRE requires a minimum QML version of 2.3.28, installation of a new connectivity module, and the QML Configuration Module (QCM) into the Links menu. The QML Links menu must also be updated for all client access (i.e., Citrix, RDWeb, physical workstations).

PixCell HemoScreen – New Connectivity Features

The PixCell HemoScreen performs a five-part CBC at point of care. TELCOR has released connectivity to the HemoScreen including results, operator lists, and device events. We are also committed to a second release in 2023 with the addition of patient lists, reagent lists, device configurations, and firmware updates. Implementation of HemoScreen requires a minimum QML version of 2.3.28 and installation of the QML Configuration Module (QCM) into the Links menu. The QML Links menu must also be updated for all client access (i.e., Citrix, RDWeb, physical workstations).

Radiometer™ - New Connectivity Features

Radiometer is a family of point of care testing devices including Radiance/AQURE, 1000 series, 7 series, 8 series, ABL700, ABL77, ABL80 FLEX series, ABL800 FLEX, and ABL90 FLEX. Radiance/AQURE is a data management system that receives data from one-to-many Radiometer blood gas devices. Samples can process into QML directly from the Radiometer devices or via Radiance/AQURE.

Enhanced connectivity to Radiometer devices will be released in 2023 with the addition of ADT Passthrough and operator lists.

Roche CoaguChek - New Full Configuration Connectivity

TELCOR will be beta releasing full configuration connectivity for the CoaguChek devices in 2023. This new functionality includes results, set date/time, operator lists, patient lists, reagent lists, and device configurations, eliminating the need to physically execute the device setup steps. Device events/errors will also be visible in QML. This release will also separate the device models, CoaguChek XS Plus and CoaguChek XS Pro, to ease operator certification management.

Implementation of CoaguChek requires a minimum QML version of 2.3.32.56, installation of a new connectivity module, and the QML Configuration Module (QCM) into the Links menu. The QML Links menu must also be updated for all client access (i.e., Citrix, RDWeb, physical workstations).

Enhanced

Abbott® i-STAT Alinity*

The i-STAT Alinity was built on the proven technology of the i-STAT 1 System. It is an easy-to-use, portable blood analyzer that delivers real-time, lab-quality, diagnostic test results. This connectivity includes results, set date/time, operator lists, patient lists, and reagent lists. i-STAT Alinity instruments communicate with QML either wirelessly or via an Ethernet-connected base station and require a minimum QML version of 2.3.28.

New functionality released this quarter:

  • Validated device firmware version OSI17

No QML upgrade is required to support this enhancement.

*i-STAT and Alinity are trademarks of Abbott and used with permission.

CoaguSense Inc. Coag-Sense

The Coag-Sense is a PT/INR monitoring system that communicates with QML using a TCP/IP connection.  This connectivity includes results, set date/time and operator lists.

New functionality released this quarter:

  • Validated device firmware version 1.1.9

No QML upgrade is required to support this enhancement.

Roche cobas® Liat®

The cobas Liat system is a compact PCR system designed for on-demand testing in point of care settings, performing influenza A/B, RSV, and Strep A assays. The Liat connects directly to QML via a TCP/IP network connection. This connectivity includes results, set date/time, operator lists, patient lists/query, reagent lists and device configurations.

New functionality released this quarter:

  • Delivery of enhancements for 3.4 firmware including new configurations options for Proxy, File Shares, Printers, Reports and Schedule Tasks, documentation of positive patient ID on samples and increased max operator count of 1000 (from 500).

A TELCOR connectivity module and QCM upgrade are required to support these enhancements. The QML Links menu must also be updated for all client access (i.e., Citrix, RDWeb, physical workstations).

Werfen ROTEM® delta via GEMweb Plus

ROTEM delta is an integrated all-in-one system for the diagnosis of massive and acute bleeding situations.

TELCOR released connectivity to ROTEM delta via GEMweb Plus this quarter. This connectivity includes results and patient query. This connectivity eliminates the need for ENQ Concentrator. Implementation of ROTEM delta requires a minimum QML version of 2.3.28 and installation of the GEM HL7 connectivity module. Because this upgrade includes new tests, it is possible that non-delta device types connected through GEMweb Plus could be impacted.
